Lyerja me mirrë
(Mt 26.6-13Mk 14.3-9)1 Gjashtë ditë përpara Pashkës, Jezui shkoi në Betani, ku jetonte Lazari, të cilin e kishte ngjallur prej të vdekurve. 2 Atje i shtruan darkën. Marta u shërbente, ndërsa Lazari ishte një nga ata që rrinin në tryezë me Jezuin. 3 Atëherë Maria mori rreth gjysmë litri mirrë prej nardi të kulluar, shumë të shtrenjtë, e ia leu me të këmbët Jezuit. Pastaj ia fshiu ato me flokët e saj. Shtëpia u mbush me aromën e mirrës. 4 Judë Iskarioti, njëri prej dishepujve, ai që do ta tradhtonte, tha: 5 «Përse të mos shitej kjo mirrë për treqind denarë e t'u jepeshin të varfërve?». 6 Këtë e tha, jo se shqetësohej për të varfrit, por sepse ishte vjedhës. Ai mbante qesen e parave e merrte prej saj çfarë hidhej në të. 7 Por Jezui tha: «Lëre të qetë! Ajo e bëri këtë për ditën e varrimit tim! 8 Të varfrit i keni gjithmonë me ju, ndërsa mua nuk më keni gjithmonë».
Kërkojnë të vrasin Lazarin
9 Një turmë e madhe judenjsh morën vesh se Jezui ndodhej atje e shkuan jo vetëm për të, por edhe të shikonin Lazarin që Jezui e kishte ngjallur prej të vdekurve. 10 Kryepriftërinjtë vendosën të vrasin edhe Lazarin, 11 sepse shumë nga judenjtë largoheshin prej tyre për shkakun e tij e besonin në Jezuin.
Hyrja në Jerusalem
(Mt 21.1-11Mk 11.1-11Lk 19.28-40)12 Të nesërmen, turma e madhe që kishte ardhur në festë, kur dëgjoi se Jezui po vinte në Jerusalem, 13 mori degë palmash e i doli para duke thirrur:
«Hosana!
Bekuar qoftë
ai që vjen në emër të Zotit,
mbreti i Izraelit!».
14 Jezui gjeti një kërriç e hipi në të, siç është shkruar:
15 Mos ki frikë,
o bijë e Sionit!
Ja, mbreti yt po vjen
hipur mbi një kërriç!
16 Në fillim dishepujt nuk i kuptonin këto, por kur Jezui u ngrit në lavdi, u kujtuan se këto gjëra i kishin bërë për të, siç ishin shkruar.
17 Turma që kishte qenë me Jezuin, kur ai kishte thirrur Lazarin të dilte nga varri dhe e kishte ngjallur prej të vdekurve, dëshmonte për të. 18 Prandaj turma i kishte dalë para, sepse kishin dëgjuar për këtë shenjë që kishte bërë. 19 Atëherë farisenjtë i thanë njëri-tjetrit: «A e shihni se nuk keni ç'bëni? Ja, gjithë bota po shkon pas tij!».
Disa helenë kërkojnë Jezuin
20 Midis atyre që kishin shkuar në Jerusalem për të adhuruar gjatë festës ishin edhe disa helenë. 21 Ata shkuan te Filipi, që ishte nga Betsaida e Galilesë, e iu lutën: «Zotëri, duam të takojmë Jezuin». 22 Filipi shkoi e i tha Andreas. Pastaj Andrea dhe Filipi shkuan e i thanë Jezuit. 23 Jezui u përgjigj: «Erdhi ora që të përlëvdohet Biri i njeriut! 24 Me të vërtetë po ju them se nëse kokrra e grurit, që ka rënë në tokë, nuk vdes, mbetet e vetme, por nëse vdes, jep shumë fryt. 25 Kush e do jetën e vet, do ta humbasë atë dhe kush e urren jetën e vet në këtë botë, do ta ruajë për jetën e amshuar. 26 Nëse dikush më shërben mua, le të vijë pas meje dhe ku jam unë, atje do të jetë edhe shërbëtori im. Nëse dikush më shërben mua, Ati do ta nderojë».
Për kryqëzimin
27 «Tani shpirti im është i tronditur, por çfarë të them? Të them: “Atë, shpëtomë nga kjo orë”? Por unë erdha pikërisht për këtë orë.
28 O Atë, përlëvdoje emrin tënd!». Atëherë erdhi një zë nga qielli: «E kam përlëvduar e përsëri do ta përlëvdoj». 29 Turma që rrinte e dëgjonte, tha: «Ishte një bubullimë». Të tjerë thanë: «I foli një engjëll». 30 Jezui u përgjigj: «Ky zë nuk erdhi për mua, por për ju. 31 Tani bëhet gjykimi i kësaj bote! Tani do të hidhet jashtë sundimtari i kësaj bote! 32 Kur unë të lartësohem nga toka, do t'i tërheq të gjithë pranë vetes». 33 Këtë e tha për të treguar me ç'vdekje do të vdiste.
34 Turma iu përgjigj: «Ne kemi dëgjuar nga ligji se Krishti mbetet përjetë. Si mund të thuash ti se Biri i njeriut duhet të lartësohet? Kush është ky Biri i njeriut?». 35 Jezui u tha: «Edhe për pak kohë drita është me ju. Ecni sa keni dritë, që të mos ju zërë errësira. Kush ecën në errësirë nuk e di ku shkon. 36 Për sa kohë keni dritën, besoni në dritën, që të bëheni bij të dritës».
Mosbesimi i judenjve
Pasi tha këto, Jezui iku e u fsheh prej tyre. 37 Megjithëse kishte bërë kaq shenja para syve të tyre, ata nuk besonin në të, 38 që të përmbushej fjala e profetit Isai që ka thënë:
Zot, kush i besoi lajmit tonë?
Kujt iu zbulua fuqia e Zotit?
39 Prandaj nuk mund të besonin, sepse Isaia ka thënë edhe:
40 i verboi sytë e tyre
dhe i ngurtësoi zemrat e tyre,
që të mos shohin me sy,
apo të kuptojnë me zemër
që të mos kthehen tek unë
për t'i shëruar.
41 Këto tha Isaia, sepse e pa lavdinë e Jezuit dhe foli për të. 42 Megjithatë shumë nga krerët e judenjve besuan në Jezuin, por nuk e rrëfenin haptas, nga frika e farisenjve, që të mos përjashtoheshin nga sinagogat. 43 Ata donin më shumë lavdinë e njerëzve se lavdinë e Perëndisë.
Kush na gjykon?
44 Jezui tha me zë të lartë: «Kush beson në mua, nuk beson në mua, por në atë që më dërgoi. 45 Kush më sheh mua, sheh atë që më dërgoi. 46 Unë, drita, erdha në botë, që kushdo që beson në mua, të mos mbetet në errësirë. 47 Nëse dikush dëgjon fjalët e mia, por nuk i zbaton, unë nuk e gjykoj, sepse nuk kam ardhur për ta gjykuar botën, por për ta shpëtuar atë. 48 Atë që më hedh poshtë mua e nuk pranon fjalët e mia, ka kush e gjykon. Fjala që fola, ajo do ta gjykojë në ditën e fundit. 49 Sepse unë nuk fola nga vetja ime, por Ati që më dërgoi, ai më urdhëroi ç'të them e ç'të flas. 50 Unë e di se urdhërimi i tij është jetë e amshuar. Ato që them, unë i them siç m'i tha Ati».
1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. 2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. 3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son , which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. 8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always. 9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
10 ¶ But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; 11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
12 ¶ On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. 14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, 15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt. 16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. 17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. 18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
20 ¶ And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: 21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. 22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
23 ¶ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. 27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. 28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying , I have both glorified it , and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it , said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. 30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. 33 This he said, signifying what death he should die. 34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? 35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. 36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
37 ¶ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: 38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. 41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42 ¶ Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him , lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 ¶ Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
