1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. 5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. 8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
14 ¶ And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered. 15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils. 16 And others, tempting him , sought of him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. 18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. 19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. 20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. 21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: 22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. 23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. 24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. 25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. 26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
27 ¶ And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
29 ¶ And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. 30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. 33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. 34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. 36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
37 ¶ And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. 38 And when the Pharisee saw it , he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner. 39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. 40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? 41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. 42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. 44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
45 ¶ Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also. 46 And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. 47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. 48 Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres. 49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: 50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; 51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation. 52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. 53 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: 54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

(Mt 6.9-15Mt 7.7-11)1 Jezui po lutej në një vend. Kur mbaroi, njëri nga dishepujt i tha: «Zot, na mëso të lutemi, sikurse Gjoni i mësoi dishepujt e vet». 2 Ai u tha: «Kur të luteni thoni:
Atë , u shenjtëroftë emri yt,
ardhtë mbretëria jote !
3 Bukën tonë të përditshme
na e jep çdo ditë
4 e na i fal mëkatet tona,
se edhe ne ua falim detyruesve tanë .
E mos na vër në sprovë ».
5 Pastaj u tha: «E zëmë se njëri nga ju ka një mik, shkon tek ai në mesnatë e i thotë: “Mik, më jep tri bukë, 6 se më ka ardhur një miku im e nuk kam asgjë për t'i vënë përpara”. 7 E ai përgjigjet nga brenda: “Mos më shqetëso! Tani e kam mbyllur derën dhe kemi rënë në gjumë edhe unë, edhe fëmijët. Nuk mund të çohem për të të dhënë gjë”. 8 Unë po ju them se edhe pse nuk do të çohet për t'i dhënë gjë ngaqë e ka mik, do të çohet për t'i dhënë aq sa ka nevojë të paktën për shkak të këmbënguljes së tij.
9 Dhe unë po ju them: lypni e do t'ju jepet; kërkoni e do të gjeni; trokitni e do t'ju hapet, 10 sepse kush lyp, merr; kush kërkon, gjen dhe atij që troket, do t'i hapet. 11 A ka ndër ju ndonjë atë që do t'i jepte fëmijës së vet, që i kërkon peshk, gjarpër në vend të peshkut? 12 Ose, nëse fëmija i lyp vezë, do t'i jepte një akrep? 13 Nëse ju që jeni të këqij, dini t'u jepni fëmijëve tuaj gjëra të mira, aq më shumë Ati juaj do t'ua japë prej qiellit Shpirtin e shenjtë atyre që ia kërkojnë!».
Jezui dhe Beelzebuli
(Mt 12.22-30Mk 3.20-27)14 Jezui po dëbonte një djall, i cili ishte memec. Kur u dëbua djalli, memeci foli e turmat u mrekulluan. 15 Por disa prej tyre thanë: «Ai i dëbon djajtë me fuqinë e Beelzebulit, kryetarit të djajve».
16 Të tjerë, për ta vënë në provë, i kërkonin një shenjë nga qielli. 17 Por Jezui, që i njihte mendimet e tyre, u tha: «Çdo mbretëri e përçarë shkretohet dhe shtëpitë e saj shemben njëra pas tjetrës. 18 Nëse edhe Satani është i përçarë, si mund të qëndrojë mbretëria e tij meqë ju po thoni se unë i dëbuakam djajtë me fuqinë e Beelzebulit? 19 Nëse unë i dëboj djajtë me fuqinë e Beelzebulit, me fuqinë e kujt i dëbojnë bijtë tuaj? Për këtë arsye ata do të jenë gjykatësit tuaj. 20 Por nëse unë i dëboj djajtë me fuqinë e Perëndisë, atëherë mbretëria e Perëndisë ka ardhur te ju.
21 Kur një njeri i fortë dhe i armatosur mirë e ruan shtëpinë e vet, pasuria e tij është e sigurt. 22 Por nëse dikush më i fortë se ai e sulmon dhe e mund, ia merr armët te të cilat kishte varur shpresën e u shpërndan të tjerëve ato që ka plaçkitur.
23 Kush nuk është me mua, është kundër meje dhe kush nuk mbledh me mua, shpërndan».
Kthimi i shpirtit të ndyrë
(Mt 12.43-45)24 «Kur del nga njeriu, shpirti i ndyrë endet nëpër vende pa ujë duke kërkuar prehje e kur nuk gjen, thotë: “Po kthehem te shtëpia ime prej nga dola”. 25 Kur vjen, e gjen të pastruar e të zbukuruar. 26 Pastaj shkon e sjell me vete shtatë shpirtra të tjerë më të këqij se vetja dhe hyjnë e banojnë aty. Kështu, gjendja e fundit e atij njeriu bëhet më e keqe se e mëparshmja».
Lumnia e vërtetë
27 Ndërsa po thoshte këto gjëra, një grua nga turma ngriti zërin e i tha: «Lum barku që të ka mbajtur dhe gjinjtë që të kanë mëkuar!». 28 Por Jezui i tha: «Më mirë, lum ata që e dëgjojnë fjalën e Perëndisë dhe e zbatojnë!».
Një shenjë
(Mt 12.38-42Mk 8.12)29 Ndërsa turmat po shtoheshin, Jezui filloi të thoshte: «Kjo brezni është e mbrapshtë. Ajo kërkon një shenjë, por asaj nuk do t'i jepet asnjë shenjë, përveç shenjës së Jonait. 30 Sikurse Jonai u bë shenjë për popullin e Ninivës, ashtu do të jetë edhe Biri i njeriut për këtë brezni. 31 Mbretëresha e Jugut do të ngjallet në ditën e gjykimit bashkë me njerëzit e kësaj breznie e do t'i dënojë, se ajo erdhi nga fundi i dheut për të dëgjuar urtinë e Solomonit. Dhe ja, këtu është dikush më i madh se Solomoni. 32 Njerëzit e Ninivës do të ngjallen në ditën e gjykimit bashkë me këtë brezni e do ta dënojnë, sepse ata u penduan kur predikoi Jonai. Dhe ja, këtu është dikush më i madh se Jonai».
Drita e trupit
(Mt 5.15Mt 6.22-23)33 «Askush nuk e ndez kandilin për ta vënë në një vend të fshehtë apo nën magje. Përkundrazi, vihet në mbajtësen e vet, që ta shohin dritën ata që hyjnë brenda. 34 Drita e trupit është syri. Nëse syri yt është i fortë, tërë trupi yt do të jetë i ndriçuar, por nëse syri yt është i sëmurë, trupi yt do të jetë në errësirë. 35 Prandaj ki kujdes që drita që është në ty të mos jetë errësirë. 36 Nëse, pra, tërë trupi yt është plot me dritë e pa asnjë pjesë në errësirë, gjithçka do të jetë e shndritshme, siç është kur një kandil shndrit me tërë shkëlqimin e tij».
Mjerë ju
(Mt 23.1-36Mk 12.38-40Lk 20.45-47)37 Ndërsa Jezui po fliste, një farise e ftoi për të ngrënë në shtëpinë e tij. Jezui shkoi e u ul në tryezë. 38 Fariseu u çudit kur pa se Jezui nuk bëri ritin e larjes para se të hante. 39 Atëherë Zoti i tha: «Tani, ju farisenjtë pastroni pjesën e jashtme të kupës e të pjatës, por përbrenda jeni plot grykësi e ligësi. 40 Të marrë! Ai që bëri pjesën e jashtme, a nuk bëri edhe të brendshmen? 41 Prandaj, jepni lëmoshë me gjërat e brendshme e kështu do të keni të pastër gjithçka. 42 Por, mjerë ju, farisenj! Ju i kushtoni Perëndisë një të dhjetën e mendrës, të ryzës e të çdo barishteje, por lini pas dore drejtësinë e dashurinë e Perëndisë. Këto duhet të zbatoni, pa lënë pas dore të tjerat. 43 Mjerë ju, farisenj, që ju pëlqen të zini vendet e para nëpër sinagoga e të merrni përshëndetje nëpër sheshe! 44 Mjerë ju, që jeni si varre pa shenjë, që njerëzit i shkelin pa e ditur».
45 Njëri nga mësuesit e ligjit iu përgjigj: «Mësues, ti na fyen edhe ne duke thënë këto gjëra». 46 Por Jezui i tha: «Mjerë edhe ju, mësues të ligjit, sepse i ngarkoni njerëzit me barrë të rënda, por vetë nuk lëvizni as gishtin për t'i mbajtur! 47 Mjerë ju, se ndërtoni varret e profetëve që etërit tuaj i vranë! 48 Kështu dëshmoni se i miratoni veprat e etërve tuaj, sepse ata i vranë profetët, ndërsa ju u ndërtoni varret. 49 Prandaj edhe Perëndia në urtinë e tij ka thënë: “Unë do t'u dërgoj profetë e apostuj, por ata do t'i vrasin e disa do t'i përndjekin”, 50 që kjo brezni të fajësohet për gjakun e derdhur të të gjithë profetëve që nga themelimi i botës, 51 që nga gjaku i Abelit, te gjaku i Zakarisë, që e vranë mes altarit e shenjtërores. Po, po ju them, se për këtë gjë do të fajësohet kjo brezni. 52 Mjerë ju, mësues të ligjit, se e keni marrë për vete çelësin e dijes! Kështu, as vetë nuk hytë, por penguat edhe të tjerët të hyjnë».
53 Kur Jezui doli, shkruesit dhe farisenjtë filluan të zemëroheshin e ta sulmonin me lloj-lloj pyetjesh, 54 duke i ngritur kurth që ta kapnin për ndonjë gjë që do të thoshte.
